The North Dakota Industrial Commission recently awarded a Renewable Energy Council Grant for $333,000 to BWR Innovations for their H2 Farm Energy Project to support the development of capabilities at the Grand Farm Innovation Site to power innovations and demonstration in agriculture technology.
Grand FarmResearch and Education Initiative ("Grand Farm"), a 501(c)(3) non-profit, is an independent, neutral platform advancing agriculture. Grand Farm empowers research, education, collaboration, capital access, demonstration, and the acceleration of technology that enables growers to be more efficient, reduce labor needs, and increase access to best in class opportunities across agriculture and energy. BWR Innovations' alternative energy technology will support the development of capabilities at the Grand Farm Innovation Site to power innovations and demonstration in agriculture technology. This sustainable energy technology is additive and enhances the traditional energy infrastructure, while maintaining reliability throughout the season. The technology bridges the gap between agriculture and energy, which are two primary industries in North Dakota.
The modular nature of this technology will support the Grand Farm as it scales operations from its current Innovation Site and into the future as it develops its permanent campus. To begin, BWR Innovation and Grand Farm will temporarily install the first stage of this modular technology on the Grand Farm Innovation Site for the 2022 season. Additional stages will be added once the move to the new site occurs, eventually demonstrating the full capabilities of the system.
