At the Grand Farm Innovation Campus located near Casselton, ND, we bring together growers, startups, researchers, corporations, government, and investors to test, validate, and scale AgTech solutions in a real-world farm setting.
Grand Farm’s Innovation Campus is a 590-acre site where startups, corporations, growers, researchers, and educators come together to develop, test, and refine agricultural technologies.
It’s a space designed for collaboration and learning: where early-stage companies can validate products, established organizations can explore new approaches, and real-world data can inform what’s next.
From field trials to startup plots, every season brings new opportunities to explore what’s possible in agriculture.
Field Trials and Startup Plots
Grand Farm field trials are a way for startups, corporations, and researchers to demonstrate and refine agricultural technologies in a working farm environment.
Events and Gatherings
Throughout the year, the Innovation Campus hosts tours, small and large scale events, field days, and gatherings that connect people into our AgTech ecosystem.
Technology Demonstrations
Partners and innovative companies showcase equipment and digital tools for audiences, with opportunities to explore usability and feedback in a real-world setting.
The Innovation Shop is the central hub of the Innovation Campus.
It’s where our partners and diverse ecosystem come together to explore ideas, host events, and collaborate on agricultural technology.
The space includes an auditorium, boardroom, outdoor amphitheater, and flexible meeting areas that support everything from small workshops to equipment demonstrations and large-scale gatherings.
PTI North Dakota, part of AGCO’s Precision Technology Institute, is an anchor tenant at the Innovation Shop.
The Sensor Sandbox is a collaborative testbed on the Innovation Campus where startups and partners evaluate IoT sensor technologies in real farm conditions. It supports real-time data collection, communications testing, and feedback sharing to help improve product performance and adoption.
The Sensor Sandbox demonstrates multiple ways to connect sensors in the field, including 4G/5G, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and LoRaWAN.
We’re working with tools that measure real-time field conditions like soil moisture, temperature, salinity, wind speed, humidity, precipitation, solar radiation, and plant health.
The project simulates the kinds of challenges growers face (like limited connectivity or extreme weather) to make sure these technologies are practical and reliable in the real world.
Grand Farm, powered by Emerging Prairie, is a network of growers, technologists, corporations, startups, educators, policymakers, and investors working together to solve problems in agriculture with applied technology.
The Grand Farm initiative accelerates research and innovation in technology for the farm of the future.
Grand Farm does not take ownership or a vested interest in partners’ intellectual property and refrains from making decisions on IP developed as part of contracts with other organizations.
