Their unique expertise across technology development and hands-on production agriculture reflects Grand Farm’s mission to advance solutions that serve the future of farming.
Joel Honeyman leads global innovation at Doosan Bobcat Inc., where he is responsible for applying new technologies that drive smarter, more sustainable equipment. He has been a leader in Bobcat’s transformation into an innovation-driven company, helping launch new products and systems that improve productivity and enable next-generation job sites. Honeyman holds engineering and agricultural economics degrees from North Dakota State University and remains an active contributor to innovation-focused organizations nationwide.
I’ve spent my career shaping the future of equipment, but my beginnings started on the farm. My family has farmed in southwestern North Dakota for five generations, so I understand firsthand the vital role agriculture plays in our region’s economy and identity. As we look to the future, I believe emerging technologies will be essential to help farmers and ag-adjacent businesses meet the growing demands of a changing world. I’m honored to join Grand Farm in advancing this mission and shaping the future of farming.”
Kyle Courtney operates Courtney Farms in Oakes, North Dakota, and serves as CEO of RentEase and AI Smart Farms. With a deep commitment to soil health, precision technology, and long-term land stewardship, Courtney brings real-world insight from his fifth-generation family operation. He is also the current Chair of Grand Farm’s Grower Advisory Board. A graduate of NDSU, Courtney has served on the Dickey County Water Resource Board and FSA Board, and is known for his thoughtful, data-driven approach to modern farming.
“We’re excited to welcome Joel and Kyle to the Grand Farm Board of Directors,” said Greg Tehven, Chair of the Grand Farm Board. “Joel’s leadership in global equipment innovation and Kyle’s deep-rooted experience as a grower and entrepreneur make them invaluable voices in shaping Grand Farm’s next chapter. Their involvement strengthens our ability to bridge emerging technology with on-the-ground implementation.”
The addition of Honeyman and Courtney to the board reinforces Grand Farm’s commitment fostering collaboration between researchers, startups, industry, and growers to further innovation in agriculture.
